Mellow yellow and scarlet fever: Cape Town Summer

We still have some hot days left in our Cape Town summer. I love yellow for daytime and red-hot black and scarlet for sexy summer nights.

Witchery presents a visual collection of zesty key items designed to extend the sweetness of summer. The collection is available at Stuttafords stores nationwide.

Mood Board: Pastel Pop

I’m having a little mellow moment with pastels right now. Sunglass Hut has inspired me with soft candy hues. All the major designers – Givenchy, Wang (Vera, not Alexander) and LV have all put their stamp of approval on these soft and easy-on-the-eye colours. And while my summer shopping did involved all the neons and vivid corals popular this summer, I do love these pinks, mints and lemons. So pretty and feminine.

Soft pink sheer and sleeveless from Sissy Boy – retailing at R449.00

Dolce & Gabbana pastel pink frames with dark lens – R2190

Mint Green Sissy Boy jeans – R699

Lemon and white sleeveless sheer top from Sissy Boy – R549.00

And add some gold

Gold bib with black stone studs from Sass Diva – R270

Love this mood board from Sunglass Hut…(Hello, Tiffany sunglasses at number 3 – you look like you want to come home with me?)

Summer preview at Press Stick

Press Stick, the PR agency for major South African and international fashion brands like Sunglass Hut, Sissy Boy, Philosphy, Skull Candy and Sea Folly, previewed the looks for summer to media in early June. It’s going to be a colourful season (neons will be here for a while) and straying from 2011’s whites, the look for the upcoming summer season is bright and bold.

My favorites of these summer ranges came from ┬áSunglass Hut, QUEUE Shoes, Sass Diva (bold, geometric neck pieces, cuffs and rings will be big in the summer), Philosophy, Sissy Boy, Ketz-ke and Skull Candy – I’ll be covering some of these brands in the next few months.

Queue Shoes – bright and bold, patterned Sea Folly bikinis and Sissy Boy tote

Skull Candy – on my ‘want’ list. My favourite…a beanie with installed earphones. Perfect for the cold Cape Town weather.
